We are pleased to announce our partnership with PropTech Connect 2024. As part of our presence at the event, we are working with our members Pi Labs to host a Women in Real Estate breakfast, "Beyond Bias: Empowering Women in Real Estate."

This is an informal breakfast event bringing together women from across PropTech & Property who are navigating and reshaping the real estate industry.

Event Overview

The industry is evolving and with that we are seeing more changes within leading organisations across industries, specifically Real Estate, adopt new solutions and open themselves up to modern technologies such as AI and Machine Learning. But as the industry grows, it becomes increasingly important to reflect on areas such as the make-up of your organisation, hiring practices and the values you hold. The aim of this event is to have an open and honest discussion around the current challenges in the industry, biases and perceptions and share personal experiences.

Below are some areas we will delve into:

-Breaking the Mould: Why do certain roles, like those in technical fields and senior management, seem less accessible to women? We'll aim to explore the perceptions and realities that contribute to this gap.

-Unconscious Bias in Hiring: How can we identify and overcome unconscious biases in recruitment processes, especially to increase the representation of women from diverse backgrounds whether that's race, age or education.

-Re-entering the Workforce:Women are often under pressure when returning to work from maternity leave, caregiving duties or general career breaks, having to work harder to solidify their position and reiterate their years of experience to retain their jobs.

-What Can We Do Better? We'll conclude the discussion by exploring what is currently being done within organisations to promote diversity and inclusivity and discuss practical steps we can take to enhance these efforts.
